DIY Classroom Pencil Holder Caddy

Would you like to have an inexpensive caddy to place in groups of students to keep their scissors, rulers, glue, etc?

Items to Gather:

  • Decorative duct tape
  • Exact-o knife
  • Empty 6 pack containers…….adult beverage containers…beer…it’s summertime, it’s ok to have some on hand!! 🙂

Step 1:  With the duct tape, you can decide if you want to go horizontal or vertical. I did both, but on 2 different caddies.

Step 2:  Overlap the tape until it is covered. You will probably use 3 strips going horizontal and 5 strips going vertical.

Step 3:  Flip it over to the other side and repeat.

Step 4:  Turn over to the smaller face side and use vertical strips to cover.

Step 5:  Flip to the next smaller face side and repeat.

Step 6:  When doing the handles, cover and use the exact-o knife to cut into the shape to carry it easily.
Note: I cut my tape using the exact-o knife just to be a little neat.

Other Tips/Suggestions:

I used white tape decorated with cupcakes, you may want to use a darker tape. You can see a little bit of the Bud Light words underneath! LOL!!!

It is a goal to have a caddy on each group! Go for yours!

Cheers!! Have an awesome time creating your own!!
